KanCare Extension Public Hearings

Public Notice and Comment Period – KanCare Extension

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is offering the opportunity to attend additional public hearings regarding the state’s proposed one-year extension of the KanCare program, and to provide comments about the extension request application.

Public Comment – Timing and Process

This public comment period runs from February 16, 2017 until March 24, 2017. Comments will be accepted until March 24; and the state intends to submit the extension request on April 14, 2017.

Notice of Opportunity to Review / Comment on Medicaid Access Monitoring Plan

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is offering the opportunity to review and comment on its proposed Medicaid Service Access Monitoring Plan – October 2016. This plan is developed pursuant to 42 CFR 447.203, and describes how Kansas will address the terms of that new federal regulation within the context of the KanCare program through which nearly all Kansas Medicaid services are provided. Public comments were accepted through September 23, 2016.

The Member Lunch and Learn conference calls are an opportunity for people interested in learning about Kancare (Medicaid) to listen to speakers discuss their areas of expertise. A different Kancare subject is presented at each call. Time is given to ask questions at the end of each session.

Lunch and Learn calls are moderated by the Kancare OmbudsmanKerrie Bacon.
